spark driver: So Tecno just dropped the Spark 50 Pro globally on June 16, and I've spent the last hour going through the specs instead of doing actual work. Figured I'd start a thread since I know a few people here were waiting on whatever replaces the Spark 40 Pro.
Quick rundown of what's confirmed so far:
- 6.78" display, 120Hz
- Helio G100 Ultimate chipset (same family as the Spark 40 Pro, so don't expect a huge jump in raw performance)
- Two battery options depending on the market: 6000mAh or 5600mAh, both supposedly good for 1,900+ charge cycles and around six years before they degrade
- 60W charging, full charge in under an hour
- 50MP Sony main camera, bigger sensor than the usual budget Tecno fare
- IP68 and IP69 rated, which is honestly overkill for most of us but I'm not complaining
- Still 4G only, nothing about a 5G variant anywhere
No official word yet on Pakistan pricing or release date. The trackers are throwing around numbers between 55k and 65k PKR, but that's guesswork until Tecno Pakistan actually confirms something. For reference, the Spark 40 Pro has been sitting around 57-62k this past year.
Here's where I'm stuck: the battery longevity stuff sounds great on paper, but "rated for 1,900 cycles" means nothing until someone's actually run that test for real. And the chipset isn't really an upgrade over the 40 Pro, it's the same Helio G100 Ultimate again. So is this a meaningful upgrade, or a battery and camera refresh wearing a new name?
Anyone here still using the Spark 40 Pro or the rest of the 40 series? Would you actually switch to this, or hold out for something with a stronger chipset later this year? And if anyone hears real numbers on the Pakistan price before it's official, drop them below.
